Razldazl Pacino is impressive in his first race at Shelbourne last nite

As expected Satin Romeo reversed form with Pasture Lad in the sole sprint. John Byrne’s talented son of Ballymac Maeve and Satin Ruby was headed early by Burnt Oak Bolt, but Romeo powered up the fence to strike the front on the corner.

Despite drifting wide, allowing Pasture Lad to move upsides entering the home straight, Satin Romeo was always in control. Once straightening up he simply eased away from his rival again to take the victory by a length and a half in 19.03.

There was a three-way photo finish in the fourth race with promising youngster Knight Bite (Blackstone Gene/ Moyvane Lace) containing both Kilara Hey Mac and Razldazl Pacino in 28.91. Making a fast start from trap one before moving to the middle of the track, he and Razldazl Pacino came in contact with the latter coming out worst.

Knight Bite, owned by Aoife and Orla McCabe, turned with a clear lead over the improving Kilara Hey Mac. The latter moved with some menace into the third turn, but was forced to move wide on the run in as Knight Bite once again drifted across the track. At the same time, the eye-catching Razldazl Pacino was flying up the inside. In a desperate finish Knight Bite held Kilara Hey Mac by a short head, with Razldazl Pacino making a wonderful debut just a neck away in third.
