Razldazl Oisin and Fionn sired by Razldazl Jayfkay out of Dundooan Diva

Razdazl Jayfkay was all the rage in the 2011 Greyhound Derby, but Dolores Ruth’s speedster was knocked out at the quarter-final stages and he will be hoping for a better return in the 2012 Greyhound Derby.

He was simply majestic in the early rounds of last year’s competition with exquisite early pace, but having been drawn in the same heat as eventual winner Taylors Sky, Ruth’s star was unable to manufacture his way through the field and qualify for the semi-finals.

However, he has been sensational in his native Ireland and will be one of the leading contenders again and will spearhead Ruth’s strong battalion heading over from the Emerald Isle for the Derby.

His 28.22secs performance in last year’s competition showed that if he can ping the lids then he will be extremely tough to beat and he showed when winning the Dogger Dazzler Stakes at the end of March with a sublime time of 28.20secs showed that he was not one to underestimate.

A wide runner, he is sure to be helped by gaining the black and white striped jacket and if he can get on the bunny in the early rounds then he should qualify comfortably and will be a major force and that’s why is one of the leading names in the latest 2012 Greyhound Derby Betting.

2012 Greyhound Derby Form

First Round

Handed an easy task in the opening round of the 2012 Greyhound Derby, Razldazl Jayfkay made no mistake in the four runner heat, as he ran out a comfortable winner to cement his place at the head of the betting.

He didn’t show his awesome pace intially from the boxes, but when he got into the first bend he duly picked up and pulled way clear of his inferior rivals to win by two-and-three-quarter lengths in a time of 28.39secs.

Second Round

Superlatives would struggle to describe the sheer brilliance of Razldazl Jayfkay’s second round performance as his track-record breaking performance was arguably one of the greatest things seen on a track for many a year.

It may have look straightforward on paper, but the way he stormed clear from the traps, setting the fastest ever sectional time recorded at Wimbledon, was a thing of beauty and he kept up his dominance and recorded a 28.08secs time for the 480m to porpel himself to the head of the betting.

Third Round

He may not have replicated his heroics from the second round, but Razldazl Jayfkay still cemented his place at the head of the 2012 Greyhound Derby betting with a rather workmanlike performance in winning his heat at the prohibitive odds of 1/4 fav.

He broke well and showed a decent turn of foot to head his mediocre rivals to the bend and he gradually pulled clear to win comfortably by three-quarters-of-a-length from Graigues Orchard in a decent 28.48secs.

Quarter Final

Handed his toughest assignment of the competition so far, Razldazl Jayfkay dealt with it in style as he lowered the colours of the exciting Bubbly Phoenix and unbeaten Boher Paddy with an impressive victory in his quarter-final.

Showing great early pace from the boxes, he was aided by Bubbly Phoenix missing the break and was able to get to the first bend in front and he duly pulled clear to win by five-and-a-quarter lengths in a time of 28.41secs to cemet his place at the head of the betting.

Semi Final

Having stormed out of the boxes, it appeared that Razldazl Jayfkay would be able to cement his place in the 2012 Greyhound Derby, but going to the first bend, he was baulked badly by the speedy Judicial Ruling, who took him wide.

After that he turned in fourth place and was unable to get past his Irish adversary and Dolores Ruth’s dream of bagging the coveted prize was over as the ante-post favourite was sent crashing out.
