RAZLDAZL MARILYN JOINS MASSIVE ENTRY FOR NIGHT OF STARS BUT BRIDIE OUT

If the entries received up to early yesterday evening are any indication, then the second staging of the Night of Stars will be right up there with last year’s sensational inaugural running.

It’s clearly going to be a must-be–there night at Shelbourne on Saturday.

Racing manager Declan Carey faces quite a task in selecting the six dogs for each of the eight races and in cases he is sure to leave out dogs or bitches that could be among the favourites for that race.

The latest classic winner Locnamon Bridie was due to contest the Stars of the Night Bitch 525 after a Sunday decision but Paul Hennessy and Charlie Chawke were forced to scrap the plan when it was discovered that she had a minor tendon problem.

There are nine British challengers thus far with almost half the number entered for the Track Bookmakers 850. Musical Gaga will be a big fancy to win this race but it will be mighty interesting to see how she compares with the likes of Razldazl Marilyn and Handonthefan.

In the list of entries for the particular races I have lumped together the entries for the 525 and 550 and also for the 575 and 600 due to the number of them with an open mind as to which trip to target.

However it would appear that the connections of Droopys Jet and Ballymac Vic have signalled their intention to contest the Boylesports 550.

The entries for each race are of the very highest class and some terrific contests are in prospect. The draw will be made at lunchtime today
