It will be celebration time at Dundalk Stadium on Friday night when the track celebrates ten years in business after staging their first meeting on November 29th, 2003.
The greyhound track was in operation first and the horse circuit officially got under way on August 26th, 2007.
Friday’s celebrations will commence with a seven race horse card followed by eight greyhound contests, including five finals and three open races. Then there will be music and craic until “late”. There will be a cutting of the cake ceremony and, who knows, anybody there may get some of it.
It will be a very busy day in the town of Dundalk with the Santa Run and Festival of Lights and anybody who completes the Santa Run will get Free admission to the stadium on the night provided they wear their Santa Suit and join the party!
On the racing side last weekend Laurence Jones and his brother Brian shared a double with Hip Hop Harry clocking the second fastest of the weekend 28.77 in Friday’s opening contest while Mo Green made a 29.19 winning debut on Saturday.
The fastest over the 525 trip was Ollie Bray’s Royal Raven with a 28.76 run on Saturday while Roy Ruddy’s Drumcrow Impact was fastest over the 400 trip with a 21.56 run the same night.
